We are proud to offer our Keiki Dining Program and kid friendly cuisine at Brown’s Beach House, Binchotan Bar & Grill and Hale Kai Restaurant. Children five years of age and under eat for free when ordering from the Keiki Menu and dining with a registered adult guest. Masako Formals was opened over 40 years ago in Ala Moana in 1977, by Fumiko Yamamoto at the brave age of 50 with her daughter Kumi. The mother-daughter duo moved from Japan to Honolulu with the dream of helping local women in Hawaii with their weddings.

Kumi has run the store with the assistance of her husband Don until his passing in 2019. Kumi is involved in every level of the business — from traveling to designer houses around the world to select our inventory, to assisting with wedding ceremonies all over the island — you may even find her checking in on a first dress fitting appointment here in our shop. Kumi’s hard work ethic combined with a laid back style defines the Masako Formals experience.
